As we all prepare to hunker down at home for a little while, we are already looking forward to getting outside for a sunny afternoon of music for the first show of our season!
WE WILL LIMIT THIS SHOW TO 50 ATTENDEES OR LESS TO ALLOW FOR PROPER SPACING-OUT. WE HAVE LOTS OF ROOM TO STRETCH OUT AN “DISTANCE” WHILE BEING SOCIAL
Last season Joe and Kenny’s show got rained out. But THIS season we had a shiny new roof on our stage and are ready – rain or shine, and we expected an afternoon of sunshine, jazz and great company on Sunday, April 19th at Carrie’s Corner, so come out, celebrate life and enjoy the music with us!
Doors open at 3, music from 4-7!
Bring your picnics and wine and good vibes and enjoy the lovely spring weather for this special Sunday afternoon jazz performance! For our season opener this year, Carrie’s Corner presents one of Atlanta’s most celebrated and busiest performers, jazz trumpeter and vocalist Joe Gransden. Well known across the country for his incredible 16 piece big band, Joe has been compared to Sinatra and Chet Baker but with a signature style all his own. Joe will perform with one of his long-time collaborators, jazz pianist Kenny Banks. Banks is a composer, arranger and performer who slips effortlessly among musical styles and who regularly accompanies Gransden, and has played with artists such as Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Holiday, and Earl Klugh.
Together they make charming duo performing everyone’s favorite jazz standards. We love Joe and Kenny and look forward to spending our afternoon with them and all of you.
