Carrie has spent her life committed to the art of storytelling through music and is now fulfilling a lifelong dream of recording an album or original music (with your help!)…her very first… which will likely not be her last.
Her career started as an artist performing as a triple threat – with a musical theater career earning her equity status doing professional shows across the country. She has also doubled down on a commitment to music and arts education, running her own dance troupe and ultimately helping hundreds of students learn to find their voice through vocal technique and coaching. A classically trained vocalist and pianist, Carrie is also a talented songwriter who has always wanted to tell stories for music that remind us that life really is a stage and that music has the power to connect us by illuminating our shared journey through “this thing called life.”
With her partner Jamie, Carrie also runs Carrie’s Corner – a not-for-profit music venue out of her home that provides a stage for local and regional touring artists to share their gifts with music lovers. Now with this new venture – her Debut Album, “Boxes”, Carrie is poised to share her personal musical gifts with the world.
“Boxes” is the embodiment of her passion for storytelling and in itself is not only a highly personal story of her life journey but one we can all relate to. From the excitement of taking a bold leap to chase your dreams, the ups and downs of the relationships that shape and sustain us, to the struggle to find our place in the world and fit in the “boxes” we need to fill,. The story also inspires empathy via the experience of coping with tragedies outside of our control and ultimately allowing every step of our journey to remind us that the older we get, the more opportunity we have to live our best life by simply choosing to do so.
With the support of the amazingly talented and collaborative Atlanta Music Community, Carrie’s dream of recording her story and sharing her gift is coming true. While Covid dealt a blow to the music world, Carrie got to work writing – finishing 11 songs in a variety of Genres that inspired her throughout her life and tell a tale of the power of setting intentions, going after your ambitions despite the personal toll it takes and ultimately painting an uplifting portrait of the potential we all have within us to not just survive but to thrive.
